Just had this today. I have the best stove I can buy, Sim with level 8 in cooking, no lot challenges or clumsy attributes to her BUT she is afraid of fire. She has set herself on fire about 3 times now, two on a day and the other on the next day, and I'm afraid to try to cook again! EA please fix I was planning on her to become a chef!

My sim from a household I have been playing for a while now keeps catching on fire every time she tries to cook. She has level 8 cooking, doesn't have a clumsy trait, and there is no cursed lot trait. Although she does have a fear of fire.
I have tried buying better stoves but it keeps happening, I have even waited for a day to pass in game to see if it would stop, but the issue continues. She basically can't feed herself because she will catch on fire. It is really disrupting gameplay specially because she has the Chef aspiration.
While we are on the fear of fire, every time this happens the sim catches fire too so extinguishing the fire to conquer the fear isn’t even an option.

Unfortunately due to an issue with the graphics card on my laptop, I can no longer play sims.
I believe it started after one of the last few patches. Maybe been happening for a few months. At first I thought it was just rental locations, but it happens at home as well.
no mods, latest versions. All packs except most kits, and Star Wars/vampires

My sim is level 10 for cooking and I have a good stove. She keeps catching the stove on fire way more than normal. I can barely cook anymore.

I just had 4 fires in 4 days. Now my sims won't use the fireplace die to fear of fire. I've taken my mods out and played clean. It didn't help. This didn't start for me until this latest big update. Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

After some more time playing and after speaking with others with the same problem, this is definitely one of the many issues with the fears system.
I started playing with a different family and the fire/fear of fires looping stopped.
If we could all just report this and "me too" maybe it will get fixed sooner.

Is there any solution to this? I don't have any custom mods or content. I have the Seasons pack, and my sims were trying to celebrating Winterfest by cooking a meal on the stove. The stove has caught fire every single time, at least 5 times in a row now. I've tried having different sims cook, tried buying different stoves, and I get the same result with the stove catching fire. My sims are NOT tense, none of them have the clumsy trait, and the house doesn't have a cursed attribute. Both adult sims have at least level 7 cooking.
If this bug is caused by the "fear of fire" moodlet then this is definitely a defect that needs to be fixed. I am just confused why there aren't more reports of this bug?
