Hero

One other important fix coming: Columns were being forced to be medium wall height; no matter the actual wall height. Kind of lame, huh? Well, *wand waggle* *spellcast* *poof* FIXED! Columns now watch your wall height. Ahhhh - that’s better.

Fixed in Patch 1.55.108

  • All packs up to and including Moschino
  • Removed all Mods and trashed the localthumbcache file

Columns Don't Match Build Height

★★★ Novice

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.55.105.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats & Dogs, Island Living, City Living, Get Together, Get Famous, Get to Work, Laundry Day Stuff, Vampires, Toddler Stuff, StrangerVille, Spa Day, and Seasons.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open a lot with columns on it, doesn't matter if in build or live mode.
What happens when the bug occurs? Columns do not adhere to building/wall height, they automatically snap to medium.
What do you expect to see? That columns would adhere to building/wall height and not automatically snap to medium height.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Updated to the latest patch which came out today (Sept. 5, 2019)

I checked multiple neighborhoods to make sure this wasn't isolated only to Sulani. This also happened on lots in Willow Creek, and Forgotten Hollow.

If you change the size of a room, the columns change to the right height as well (as a simple workaround for now) Standard smile

I drew a fence through the columns and it shortened the columns back to regular heights!

The columns seem to automatically set to middle wall height; i.e. if you have shortest wall height they will appear too tall, and on the tallest height, they will be too short. A work around for it seems to be doing things like placing/removing walls/fences, or adding/removing/raising/lowering foundations; however, this only works for columns that have already been placed.

★★ Guide

This worked for me as well- fixed the columns right up.

Re: [NEEDS INPUT] Column's Showing Through Roof

It seems like the workarounds work on each floor not the lot as a whole. So if you have columns on multiple levels you must apply the workaround to each level.

You also need to apply the workaround each time you re-load the same lot, it doesn't stick.
