Taste fot Adventure Errand Won't Complete [ Edited ]

I’ve bought the hoops from the stalls in town, and  have the kit to purchase and make cross stitches with.

Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

I’m on console, no mods and can’t do anything with files.

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cottage Living, Cats and Dogs, Dine Out, cool Kitchen, CIty Living, Get to Work
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Cottage Living doing an errand for the Grocery Delivery guy, Taste for Adventure
What happens when the bug occurs? The task to Make a Cross Stitch won't complete. Doesn't matter how many times I make a cross stitch, it won't complete. I also tried to bypass it by giving a cross stitch to the mayor as a gift, but it didn't work.
What do you expect to see? I expect for the sim to make a cross stitch and once it's completed in her inventory the task completes and I get a new task so I can finish the errand.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I've read that this is a bug but can't find any answers for how to fix it. Even when I tried to skip that task and just gift a completed cross stitch to the mayor, it still didn't advance the errand.

I haven't tried this particular errand but from doing a lot of the others, I think the issue you and others are having is that you are trying to give it to the Mayor the wrong way.  Most of the Cottage Living NPCs that give you errands will have an option on them to give them whatever it is you were sent to find for them.  Usually, if you gift them the item from the option in your sim's inventory, it won't count and that sounds like what is happening for you.  So, try clicking on the Mayor and look for an option to give them the cross stitch.  It might be buried in one of their option menus somewhere and not readily apparent.

the special errand message doesn’t show up on these tasks for some reason. it’s a glitch just not sure why they haven’t fixed it yet

I'm have the same issue. I have no mods or CC. I have deleted localthumbnail ect. Tried every troubleshooting thing that's been suggested. I have not given the mayor anything. same as the picture above. The "make a cross stitch" doesn't fulfill upon completion.. The errand interaction does not appear with the sim.
I've completed this errand multiple times in the past. I know how it is supposed to go. Just now coming across this issue, since installing the ranch pack.

Does anyone know of any sort of cheat to just bypass it?
