Hi @felinja
are they still uncomfortable ? Did you put testingcheats first ? Are you sure you typed the ID correctly ?

I want to know why this is marked as <SOLVED> when....its NOT solved? A work around is NOT a solution. Where is the hotfix?!!!!
Still happening, this is ruining the game for me, having to do the work-around EVERY SINGLE TIME (it pops back up without preventative/vet appts, when re-loading the game for me.) and then having to FIX my dog/cat interactions by going to another lot. I shouldnt have to CHEAT just to play the game!!!!!
REALLY??? >

This is marked as solved to HIGHLIGHT the solution so people find it easily (cause it shows on the first page that way).
The reason is also clearly stated in the solution post.

Marking this as solution for visibility. This is still an open bug
I have found a temporary solution. It does indeed seem as though we're dealing with a bugged moodlet, my guess would be that whatever the "Scared of the Vet" moodlet is called, the timer on it has a few extra 0's in it.
To get rid of the moodlet (permanently, until the next time you trigger the bug again) follow these steps.
- Enable testing cheats by opening the console (Control+Shift+C and typing in testingcheats on)
- Get the SimID by the pet affected by the bug by typing in the command sims.get_sim_id_by_name FirstNameofPet LastNameofPet
- Write down the sim ID written in the console, it'll be a 19 character long string
- Remove all moodlets from your pet by typing in sims.remove_all_buffs SimID, e.g. sims.remove_all_buffs 1052442116385935975
What you can do is open up notepad or something in a small window above the game and then type down the SimID there, provided you play in windowed full-screen or windowed mode, and not actual full-screen. You can then copy-paste (Control-C, Control V) the SimID once into the console.
This will clear all the moodlets from your pet and they'll stop whining. Hopefully they'll fix this soon though.
I used this workaround for my pet but just wondered if it can be undone?
Many thanks

No. Eventually all positive moodlets will reappear given proper care of the pet.

Getting a preventative shot for your pet will no longer put them in a state of perpetual fear.
- So, so… the shot worked, right? I mean I got the shot, it stung, I felt it. The stuff is there, I'm not gonna get sick, yea? Or... wait a minute, did you just want to stick me with that? That's it, isn’t it! And... are you going to do this to me again? Has our whole life just all been a ruse? Some sort of needle plum alien experimentation study... that's it, isn't it? You're an alien! Aargh, how do I get out of here?!
Don't know yet if the wellness treat was also fixed or not.
If it's not, please create a new thread for this as I'm going to mark this as fixed.

My testing indicates that the wellness treat are also fixed. The first time a pet gets it will fear it (last 1-2hours) If this is the first time the pet gets a fear you will get a message at the end about pets being fearful of unknown things. After that the pet no longer gets fearful from the wellness treat.
Testet in vanilla game.
Notice that the pet may become uneasy for other reasons this can look the same as it being fearful but you can see the difference if there are no option to ask "What is wrong". When fearful that option will always be there.

I am still having this issue. Reached out EA about it and their solution was to completely uninstall the game and reinstall the game. I just ended up getting rid of the cat that had this issue because it annoyed me so bad. He was an adventurous cat, so he went prowling quiet often but he was never afraid of anything until one day he just miraculously was. He hadn't been to the vet because he wasn't sick, but I took him anyways to get the shot and that didn't fix anything. Tried the remove buff cheat (that is in here as a solution) and that didn't work. Reset Object on him more than once and that still didn't fix anything. He just shows a Sim with a lamp over it's head and says he's afraid of something and he just needs a minute to calm himself down. I have repaired the game and updated the game also but it didn't fix it. I am NOT going to completely reinstall a game for an issue EVERYONE is having but I just wanted to update in case someone is still having this issue.

DId you give him a wellness treat ? That part is still open.
They also can get scared of objects.
