Product: Apex Legends
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number Nvidia RTX 2070
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16 GiB
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? I_AM_PENNYBAGS
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. N/A
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. N/A
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 2-3
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? Game crashes when the HDD that Origin is installed on goes to sleep and wakes again
What should be happening instead? Game should not be crashing when the HDD that Origin is installed on goes to sleep and wakes again
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Install Origin on a mechanical drive and let the drive fall asleep. I've had Apex Legends installed on a separate SSD.

I've had persistent crashes almost every game I've played since launch, and it seemed from logs as if they coincided with the disk that Origin is installed on being asleep when Origin went to access content on it. As soon as I changed the power profile in Windows to never put hard drives to sleep, my crashes stopped, and I haven't had one in the past 40-50 games.

Thank you for the post and details of what helped for you.
Is Origin on your C/Windows OS drive or a separate one?

David,

Neither Origin nor the game are on my system drive. Origin is on D: (mechanical), Apex Legends is on H: (NVMe SSD).

Thanks!

Hi there,

Just checking in if you're still experiencing this issue? If so, would you be able to run an Origin Error Report? We've explained how you can do that, here:

https://help.ea.com/en-tr/help/origin/origin/how-to-use-origin-error-reporting/

When you've run the report, please post your Report ID in this thread.

Thank you,
