Product: Apex Legends
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number 1070
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? SinksToTheBack
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Are you using any software with an overlay? Yes
If yes, can you list them here? NVIDIA Geforce Experience, MSI Afterburner/RTSS
If you disable this software, does that have any effect? No
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Affects all of King's Canyon
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. General performance issue
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? No
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? Since last post two weeks ago, no config changes since then (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Dramatically-reduced-performance-without-any-changes-made-to/t...)
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 19.09.19 15:30
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? Note that I was able to play a few games without this issue after deleting and repairing EAC. >50% reduction in performance with GPU usage remaining at around 30% usage and CPU not running above 80% usage on any one core Increased loading times and stutters for both King's Canyon and legend selection which were previously not observed (install is on SSD with >10% of storage free)
What should be happening instead? Performance prior to this issue occurring (FPS never going below set fps_max of 95), legends/King's Canyon loading immediately after training
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Unknown, issue began out of the blue (was fine on 3/9/19 without computer restart since) May be due to me stopping the r5apex.exe process before EAC loading process completed

Timestamps are in comments.

Note the two graphs on the top left measuring frametimes and GPU usage respectively.

GPU was downclocking in King's Canyon whilst remaining steady in training (~1700 vs ~1900 Mhz)

Bug does not occur in training

Video demonstrating issue (from last post, but is effectively the same)

PC:

CPU: Xeon E3 1231v3

RAM: 16GB DDR3 1866 Mhz

GPU: 1070 8GB VRAM

Driver: 436.15

Drive 1: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (Apex is installed on this drive)

Drive 2: WD Red 6TB 5200rpm

OS: Windows 10 1903 (OS Build 18362.295)

Video was recorded after all below steps were taken

Steps already taken to combat issue:

  • Resetting driver settings
  • Reinstalling drivers using DDU in safe mode and restarting
  • Disabling NVIDIA's overlay
  • Disabling MSI Afterburner
  • Repairing the game
  • Enabling Fullscreen Optimizations (it was disabled before)
  • Origin overlay was already disabled
  • Setting r5apex.exe in Windows 10 Graphics Settings as high performance (no effect as computer does not have iGPU)
  • Deleting EAC and repairing the game
  • Reinstalling Apex Legends

The link at the bottom contains the details but I'll just write an even quicker summary here. Bug has been fixed by:

  1. Deleting all instances of EAC on PC (including %appdata% and program files)
  2. repairing the game
  3. opening EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe within Apex's directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Apex\EasyAntiCheat)
  4. Clicking the drop down box labelled "Apex Legends"
  5. Selecting 7 Days To Die (it should work with any game)
  6. Selecting Apex Legends again
  7. Clicking 'repair service' on bottom left

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Low-fps-and-disconects-due-to-EasyAntiCheat/m-p/8276879/h...

Kind of annoying that this bug has such a simple fix (at least for me) but there you go.

@Luquita2002The first time this happened deleting all instances of EAC in the directory and then repairing the game fixed it.

This time around it didn't work, and neither did reinstalling Apex.

I'm about to submit a support ticket with EAC alongside a procmon report and see if that bears any fruit.

@SinksToTheBack I have the same problem as you, I checked your last thread and tried out the solution in there, it didint work for me.
The only thing left to do is wait for EA to launch a patch that fixes this. Its unplayable.

Same issue, it occured in the past but disappeared, only for it to repeat itself ( since last week ).

CPU: AMD Ryzen 1200 @3.9GHz

RAM: 8GB 3000MHz

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB

The game ran easily at 70-80 fps ( at high graphics ), yet now it barely runs at 39 fpp ( It was stuck at 32 max before, but increased to an average of 39 after I forced the PC to dedicate itself to the game pretty much fully ) the gpu usage locks down to 40-50% and the cpu usage was at 100% ( 86-89% after I modified the CPU dedication in Windows ).

The training map runs fine, the whole lobby runs at 130-140 fps and the framerate drops only when I enter the Grand Canyon map. The stutter completely cripples the gameplay for me.

I tried :

-updating/reinstalling the latest/older GPU drivers

-reinstalling the game

-reducing the video quality to the lowest possible

Same issues. Just terrible performance in game since last Thursdayish (The 19th). Went from smmoth and fine one day to a stuttery, unplayable mess the next. When the queue pops I don't get into character select until the third p[layer has already picked, in game if I look at any of the map my FPS drops and it feels like I'm lagging terribly.

This same thing happened during the Iron Crown event but fixed itself in a day.

PC:

CPU: AMD FX-8350

RAM: 8 GB

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 960

OS: Win 10

Tried: Reinstalling, Repairing, Driver Updates, Removing Overlays, Deleting EAC, Changing Servers, Changing Video Settings.
