Disconnected from ranked match but can't rejoin and get penalized

What happens when the bug occurs? I was thrown out to lobby (time out) from ranked match and cannot connect again. I'm losing -72 rp and abandoned which is unfair and not my fault. On the VOD I share below, my friend said that my character was still in match and not dead and not getting disconnected before the penalization start
What should be happening instead? I can rejoin the match
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know

Every time my internet cuts out this happens to me. We recently had some bad winds so my internet has been cutting out often i used to be able to rejoin matches but not for a couple months now its very frustrating it happens often now since they added arenas. I get the penalty when im kicked from ranked matches and arena matches

This has happened to me every time I have disconnected and tried to rejoin. Was on the verge of diamond in 4th place just now and it happened. Lost a ton of rp and got a timeout because I tried rejoining but it wouldn't let me. I was in a party with my teammate so I know the match was still going for about 5 minutes after. I had plenty of time to reconnect but the game wouldn't let me. Internet on my end was fine, since I was talking to my buddy the whole time.

@Raastic this just happened to me when I was running in a ranked game. just disconnected for a brief moment because of my internet and i wasn't able to rejoin. this really sucks and I got penalty too.

The problem is that he cannot rejoin after disconnecting.

The connection issue he is aware of. Many players experience this, though you only refer to solving connection issue.

It's about the REJOINING THE GAME issue.

Why can't we automatically rejoin if we disconnect for 30-60 seconds????

That doesnt help at all from not being able to be reconnected and losinf points and on top of all that a game penalty! I recieve this error too and its beyond frustrating

I just had this same problem occur with this new Season update. I was playing with a party in rank and all of a sudden I disconnected. On my buddies' stream, I'm still in game but DC. When I finally got back in from restart, I got penalized for leaving the game. This was upsetting.
