Cross Platform Voicechat Issue

What happens when the bug occurs? Playing with a cross platform friend, ps4 (me), pc (them) and we are unable to hear each other, although mic symbol is reacting to voices.
What should be happening instead? I should be able to hear my friend
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Unsure as to what caused this, apologies.

He can hear me, he messaged me that he can but it doesn't go both ways and sometimes he can't.

@MURK_THE_CLOWN Can I check if you were playing with random players or friends? If friends, I take it they were on a different console to yours?

Same here. Playing on ps4, friend on XB1 can visually see is mic icon lighting up and him see mine. But neither of us can hear each other. We had to stay on the phone to communicate

I am playing on PS4 and I notice when I play with squad mates who are on X-Box, I cannot hear them as well as squad mates on PS4.
