The buttons, such as the button to get to the party menu or build mode are not working. When I touch them, they do nothing and now I can't even play because the game won't let me do anything until I check the party menu. PLEASE HELP

Could you try playing with a setting?

In Settings -> Display -> Screen Resolution, make sure you are running at FHD+ or WQHD+ resolution (not HD+ resolution).

Could you try turning your device around? It doesn't always, so give it a few tries. So if the button is near the bottom of your phone turn it so it's to the top of your phone.

I have tried it, doesn't work. Also in the furniture store pressing the x doesn't work, it's a bit to the side really from it.
