How severe is your issue? Can play, but it's highly frustrating
What happens when the bug occurs? On the headset, an image of some sort renders but it seems as if both eyes are rendering different nonsensical images. It physically hurt my eyes and gave me a headache for hours. The image returns to normal after cinematic have ended. The mirrored image on my TV renders correctly though.
What do you expect to see? The cinematics playing on a screen in my virtual space.

What components were you using? Xbox controller, HTC Vive

I had the same problem with my HTC Cosmos Elite. It was so bad that I had to close my eyes during the cutscenes. For me, turning off HDR fixed the issue completely.
Try turning HDR off.

Taking it out of full screen, to windowed or borderless is another known fix.

Same problem with Oculus Rift S.
