Children's Artist's Prodigy Aspiration

I'm having an issue with one of the aspirations for this particular one. Specifically, the one where the child must play with a toy 3 times just won't fulfill, not matter how many toys I have her play with. Is there an issue going around with this? Usually, it's kind of a hit or miss, but I can usually get it to fulfill, but this time, it won't do it at all. I'm tried the most expensive dollhouse, and I've also tried the toy chest. Neither worked.

"My sim child fulfilled the 3 toys requirement by playing on the pirate ship, swinging on the monkey bars, and playing with her medieval dollhouse. If you let them play on it until they stop, it counts toward the requirement."
