Careers disappeared?

I started playing my game and realized it had been a few (sim) days since they had gone to work. I looked at the career tab and their careers had disappeared! So I tried to join the careers again and it won't actually join anything. What's going on?

Are you using mods in your game ? Is this your active sim or do you play rotationally ?

I don't have any mods (that I can remember, at least). And yes, this has been an active game. I haven't played in about 2 weeks but last time I played they definitely had careers and everything was functioning normally.

Check your mods folder if you have any other files than resource.cfg in there.
