Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PlayStation 5
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.70
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansions except HSY, SE, and Seasons. Spa Day, Dine Out, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Movie Hangout, Kids Room Stuff, Backyard, My First Pet Stuff, Moschino, Tiny Living, Nifty Knitting, Paranormal. Blooming Rooms, Décor to the Max, Little Campers, Desert Luxe kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Click on any door at various community lots (e.g. bars, restaurants, marketplace, retail). (Residential and University Housing are working properly with all options available.)
What happens when the bug occurs? The only options that appear for locking doors on community lots are club-related (if the active sim is in a club). If the active sim isn’t in any clubs, there are no options at all.
What do you expect to see? The normal options for locking doors, including “Lock for everyone but employees”.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
I used to be able to lock doors on community lots (say, for “everyone but employees“). I haven’t tried in a long time though so I have no idea how long this has been a problem. I recently got some new packs (notably Dine Out and GTW) and noticed this issue with both restaurants and retail lots that I downloaded from the gallery (I think also with pre-built lots but I will double check). The only options that I have are club-related. It’s really annoying when customers are constantly getting food from the kitchen fridge at restaurants!
(I noticed this issue before installing Cats and Dogs and Get Famous.)

@crinrict What about in bars? Is it just not possible? I really thought I used to be able to do this…

@crinrict Ok, thanks for your reply and for confirming it’s not just my game. I guess it’s no longer an option.
I actually just remembered that I used to have a “hotel” build in my game that was technically a nightclub, and I would lock the doors of the “hotel rooms” for everyone but certain people. So it definitely used to be possible (this was at least several months ago), though I no longer have this lot so I can’t test if it still works there.
The question is, is this a bug or an intended change?

I just want to point out that this is more about un-ownable community lots like bars, lounges, libraries, cafes.
After watching yesterday’s livestream, I actually wonder if this is related to the upcoming update since they are adding options to the door locking menu. I hope it gets fixed then since this issue is preventing me from using some builds the way I had in mind!

I really want to be able to lock gates and doors on community lots now, even though I never really cared before, because after growing together I'm more likely to bring my infants and toddlers out into the world with me.

I agree - there are so many situations where locking doors is necessary either to make the lot work as desired or just for convenience. I don’t understand why they disabled it, especially with the infants coming out.

So this is still an issue. You still can’t lock doors for “everyone but employees” like you used to be able to (approx 2 years ago). I realize that this isn’t a priority to fix, but I’m also having the issue that if I lock a door for “everyone but X club” on a community lot (currently the only option) there’s no option to unlock the door! The only solution is to replace the door in build mode.
It’s just strange - why take away all the options to lock doors, but still allow the club option without any way to undo it?
