CAS wont let me edit my other sims

Cottage Living, Snowy Escape, Eco Lifestyle, Discover University, Island Living, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Get To Work, Dream Home Decorator, Journey To Batuu, Realm Of Magic, Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Vampires, Dine Out, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat, Paranormal, Tiny Living, My First Pet, Laundry Day, Fitness, Bowling Night, Vintage Glamour, Romantic Glamour, Cool Kitchen, Perfect Patio, Holiday Celebration.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Enter CAS, Add something from the gallery.
What happens when the bug occurs? You cant change who your editing, it says "you cant do this while your editing genetics" when you exit and go back in, the option to change sim isn't there (bottom left corner)
What do you expect to see? The normal CAS menu
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Have you tried the Cas.fulleditmode in the cheat bar? Only thing I can think of. I know it always works for me when it says you can't do that in create a sim. I have it on all the time so I can fix townies too. I suppose you will also need TestingCheats on in the cheat bar too.
