Hi @Aydnie and thanks for the report!

This is the correct intent of the in-game messaging system. What he sent you is not a message, but an invitation to join into a chat. If you choose to accept, you will join a new chat channel where the two of you can send each other messages.

If you do not want to chat with this player, simply decline the request.

Regardless of a minor graphical glitch, that player didn't send you a message. There is no opportunity to compose a message to send to a player. All he can do is send you an invite to the chat, and you can either accept it or not.
