Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a room and place the following doors in such a position as to catch the light (you'll need to check which way the light is oriented to determine which wall to use or you can just rotate the structure). Affected doors: Exterior Door with Multipane Window, Double Door with Arch, Fanlight, and Sidelights, Frost Your House Tall Double Door, Classy Glass Doors, Frost Your House Double Door, Exterior Door with Multiplane Window and Fanlight, Mega Double Doors (grand), Double Door Framed by Faux Columns, and King of Diamonds Classical Door*. Observe the light and shadows cast through the doors' glass panes. Contrast these doors with other doors that have the proper level of detail, such as the Bounce In Bounce Out Club Door or the Cape Crystal Doored Window.
What happens when the bug occurs? Certain details are lacking in the light and shadows cast by each listed door. For instance, the multipane window on the Exterior Door with Multipane Window is shown as a solid vs. delineated panes. Regarding the King of Diamonds Classical Door - as it has a stained glass pane, I am unsure whether the door is actually glitched or if it's by design, but I list it because in real life, light from a stained glass pane is definitely delineated by the shapes in the stained glass.
What do you expect to see? Level of detail maintained for glass panes in the listed doors, as it is for other glass paned doors in the game.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.

I've been told that for performance reasons (object poly count), those specific door designs have details painted into the glass texture instead of using object geometry. And due to the nature of the shader used on doors, those painted details do not cast shadows.

Apparently it's intentional that those particular door designs do not have geometry, so they won't cast shadows.

@SimQARobo when you say they don't have geometry, I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you mean that the lines/patterns we see on the glass are not seen/understood by the game lighting, why would that be the case vs. other similar glass paned doors with lines/patterns?
