Issue
Sims pregnancy bumps no longer grow smoothly and instead "pop" from one size to another at the end of each trimester, similarly to pregnancy in The Sims 2. Sims also immediately jump from having a flat stomach to having a pregnancy bump immediately after taking a pregnancy test. They do not react to this at all and I'm convinced that this did not happen when I first started playing the game upon release, as I recall pregnancy bumps growing smoothly at one point (like they do in The Sims 3).
Steps you took for Issue to occur
No particular steps taken as the issue has been ongoing for a long time now.
Picture
No picture but I uploaded a video to YouTube last year which shows the "pop" occurring. Click here to view.
Where does the bug occur ?
Universal issue in existing saves and new ones.
Mods/CC
I use mods and CC, but the issue occurred before I installed them and remains even after a clean install.
Expansion Packs/Game Packs/Stuff Packs
All expansions -- Vampires, Dine Out, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat -- Backyard, Kids Room, Cool Kitchen, Perfect Patio, Luxury Party
Occurring since
Unsure of specific date, but I first tried to make a post about it over a year ago so at least since then.
Operating system
Windows 10 64-bit

Hello,
I've been told that this is by design and has been this way since Sims 4 released.

Hi @pureedboot
they bump occurs suddenly if you take a pregnancy test, that's by design but after that it should go gradually.
Could you rename your user folder and start a completely new save and see if you can reproduce this way.
You guys me too'ed this. Could you please provide some more information ?
Since when is it happening ? CC/Mods ?
Good Luck

I have this issue too. I did not even realize that it was an issue until now though, I thought it was intended. This has been happening for a long time, I can't really remember a time when it did not happen this way...? Never used any CC/Mods.

Yeah, I'm also not sure I'm not misunderstanding the issue.
Do they not gradually get bigger at all and JUST have the bumps or are the bumps just part of the start of each trimester and then gradually get bigger ? I honestly never pay attention to these kind of things.

I'm not entirely sure if I understood your question? But: There is no smooth gradual belly-growing, at all. The growing only happens ("pops") when it's time for the next trimester. (A very noticeable instant size increase, both when going into 2nd and 3rd trimester.)

Then something is wrong in your game.
Do you currently have a pregnant Sim in your game ?
Would you be willing to share your save game ?
If so, please zip up this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves and drop the file to this Mediafire-Link to upload.
Please make sure to name the zip file with your user name and a tag-word of the issue.
Good Luck

I believe I have uploaded my saves file to the Mediafire-link now. (Not 100% sure, it's the first time I've done this.) The zip file should have my username in it's name. (I would suggest checking somewhere around save slot 83?)

I got your save. I'm test after dinner
