I can confirm this is by design, esports and soccer are only for Sims attending University.

@JazzyJmine I'd say this is by design as they are both tied to Uni. You can't go to Uni as a teen.

There was another thread somewhere.

Ah, thank you! The Sims 4 Wiki is wrong then. It has both those listed as after school activities for teens, not uni. That would have been cool though— for teens to have soccer and esports, in addition to drama club and scouting.

I have a teen enrolled in University, and I cannot join soccer team.  I had him graduate high school early.

@Cybrdroyd Teens only have limited things they can actually do at uni. Not sure if it's intended or a bug though.

There is definitely a bug of some sort though. You can graduate early as a teen with the high school pack, and enroll in university. You can apply for scholarships. Including the athletic one which requires you to be a member of the soccer team. My teen did this, and joined the soccer team, but after day one of uni and soccer practice, soccer team has disappeared from the career panel and she's lost that scholarship. She can't join the soccer team through any of the usual routes that a young adult would have. So, if teens aren't supposed to join the soccer team, they shouldn't be eligible for the scholarship, therefore there is a bug.

@asrd737 Yes, same here. My teen who graduated early and enrolled in university had the same thing happen, which, if it IS by design, why could he apply for an athletic scholarship to begin with? He also can's seem to join any of the university organizations. If that's by design, then it sucks.
