Building a room around plants that are ready for harvest, harvests the plants and puts the harvested fruits/veggies/flowers in the inventory.

I believe this is by design. Plants and trees are outdoors only unless you use pots. A suggested workaround- Placing a wall segment then extending it does not complete a room, allowing for four walls to close an area without placing the footprint of a room and clobbering any plants inside of the room.

@canelacaliente were you building on a foundation? If so, it will remove the objects that would have been in the area of the room in order to make way for the foundation. If there is no foundation, that shouldn't happen, so the solution would be to lower the foundation, build the room, and then raise it back up.
If this does not match your issue, it would help if you could upload the lot with harvestable plants to the Gallery and post a link to it here (or just tell me its name), so that I can take a closer look. The lot I'm testing on has several plants that I built the room around, but I'm not sure if they were ready for harvest; I don't actually play the game to the point of growing plants myself and so used another builder's lot for this test.

I was not building on a lot with a foundation. I have done the exact same thing on several lots. I just deleted the save I was having the issue in moments ago. If I am able to reproduce, I will upload the lot to the Gallery. I will also post a video of what is going on in the game.

Thanks. I'll take a look once you update.

@BryonyRae The lot I used was in my Gallery. It is uploaded as Green House Garden Store. I just purchased the plants from the lot and built my own lot for the test. I don't think the lot matters because I was able to duplicate this issue in several saves with different plants. The plants that have something on them to harvest are harvested/deleted and moved to the inventory while the plants that don't have anything to harvest remain. It doesn't matter how far you build the wall away from the plants, the result is the same. The only objects in the room disturbed were the plants. None of the other build mode objects were disturbed.

@canelacaliente Thanks for providing me with the download information. I can confirm what you're experiencing; when enclosed in a room, the fruit/veggies on a harvestable plant will be placed in inventory. Interestingly, this does not happen with trees. I would peg it as a bug.
