Summarize your bug If a character calls themselves to assist during their turn they can be countered
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? CLS Trio, Chewpio, 3PO vs 501st GAS Team. With Guard on Chewpio. Use Chewpio's Distraction ability on GAS. Chewbacca is called to assist, then Chewpio gets called in for a second assist. This attack is then countered. Another example is Ezra's "Watch and Learn" as he is technically calling himself to assist

I'm not sure if this is working as intended. Normally assists can not be countered but the unit is doing damage during their turn so I could see it working both ways.

@EnigmaPotatoes Hi thanks for the report! This is actually working as intended. Counterattacks are just looking to see if a unit did damage on their own turn. I had a similar question a while back.
