The occurrences in this video were recorded on PS5. To TL;Dr my experience with the issue
- As of this moment that I am writing this comment, the issue is far less frequent than it was
- The issue was imediedtly noticeable with the release of Season 17 (I have thousands of hours played, and noticed something was wrong imediedtly, I assumed it was an issue with Ballistics increased movement, but once he became less frequently picked, the issue was still occurring)
- For the video attached, I recently changed my settings and it seemed fixed for a day or two, and then I had the games that are shown in the video.
- In the games recorded for this video, one squad member ("MayorMcSkeet" also on PS5) said that that match was the only instance for him where he felt it was drastically different than normal. And that it was the only time he would admit it was not "User error" where any other instance he ran into he would blame on himself
Anecdotal information
- Issue seemed to have been most frequent when fighting Octane or Loba
- Issue seemed to occur more often when more than one enemy was in your line of sight (Regardless of distance from one another)
Additional information
- I most frequently play Revenant
- My most consistent squamate plays Bangalore (I am aware of Bangalores smoke on Aim Assist, as can be seen in the attached video, smoke is never present in the given examples)

It's also not as if the entire server is getting hit with this issue - it's an unequal playing field basically all the time, because some players get hit with it and others don't in the same match.

I will keep bumping this until there's some communication or acknowledgment that this issue persists.
Just had a match of Control. Aim assist massively inconsistent, frequently non-existent, then it's suddenly wrenching your crosshair around onto a target. You can't adjust for it because you never know what it'll do.

Another day, another example of aim assist not working in Apex; none at all in Gun Run game that included PC players. So that was *fun.
*frustrating, aggravating and enraging
I think the reason this issue bothers me so much is because it taints every aspect of the game. When aim assist is so inconsistent (sometimes it works, most often there's nothing, sometimes it's absurdly strong) it means that any lost fight is just tainted as "that loss was because aim assist was working for them and not for me".
You can't shrug it off because you feel like you're on an unfair playing field all of the time. At least for me.

I’ve noticed in BR, I basically cant use any sight over 1x. They just become 7/7 linear if you do and you skate past whatever you want to shoot. It’s terrible. I cant even hit people sitting still at distance if im using something over 1x.

I'm solely playing Mixtape at the moment. There's no consistency with the aim assist at all.
Most occasions it simply doesn't work, which means that you're wildly overcorrecting your aim.
On other occasions it will work as expected, giving you a kind of soft lock that you can correct for.
On some occasions it will fully lock on to an enemy and wrench your viewpoint around to follow them. Like, absurdly so. I had a match on Lava Treatment where I was aiming at the C point from B when a Wraith came up the zip line in front of me and the aim assist hauled my aim up and around onto the Wraith. On another occasion in BR at the beginning of the season it fully locked me onto a downed enemy in front of me and I had to fight to get it off them so I could engage their teammate.
It doesn't seem to be about the sight, the weapon, the distance to a player. Aim assist is triggering correctly in some instances, most of the time not triggering at all, and in some instances it's ... triggering twice? I don't know.

This remains an ongoing issue. Played Control round with non-existent aim assist, broken CPs and PC players alongside console players. The full house, you might say.
June
Same again in TDM – PC players in console lobbies and non-functional aim assist – basically, no chance at all.

Issue persists; I'm only playing Mixtape right now because you simply can not depend on the aim assist to behave consistently.
