Age requirement not met

I am getting an error popping up when I try to buy things that says 'Age requirement not met - Sorry, you do not meet the age requirement to make this purchase' even though I do meet the age requirements and should be able to purchase these things. I have already been in contact with ea via a live chat and was told it was a bug and to report my issue here. Is there a way to fix this?
