Actions keep dropping from queue...

I apologize if this has been covered already... I don't know how to find what I'm looking for here...I just need help and want to play my game... I have brain cancer and the radiation makes everything frustrating and very confusing.. My problem is that no matter what, every action I queue cancels immediately. I can't control them at all.. Anything I try to get them to do pops up in the queue and cancels on it's own. Please help.. this game is all I've got to enjoy my free time. I loved Sims 3 until my computer broke. I got Sims 4 hoping it would be better and easier but I just don't know what to do..

Are you using any mods in your game ?
Did this always happen or is this a new issue ?
Can you start a new game for testing purposes to see if you have the same issue ?
