[ARCHIVED] Reaper Rewards: Game generates multiple Grim Reapers [ Edited ]

So I was playing through the event stuff and got into a partnership with the Grim Reaper. He wasnt woohoo-able, but could be flirted with and stuff, so I figured I'd have my sim pursue him. That is, until a different grim was summoned by the grimaphone. This 2nd grim has different likes and is not interested in romance. When I try to call the 1st grim, at any time of day, it says he's asleep and to call again later. I'm not sure if asking him to pursue his dream career broke him and he was replaced or what ^^; Or if he was a glitch from the start. I'm not really sure what to do to get grim 1 back, since my farthest save is before the 2nd grim was summoned but after grim 1 changed careers

Which language are you playing the game in? - English

How often does the bug occur? - Anytime certain actions are taken. In this case, when I convince the Grim Reaper to "pursue dream job"
What is your current game version number? - 1.109.207.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? - Nothing. I play base game only
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? - Purchase Grimophone, summon Grim Reaper, advance your friendship with him enough to convince him to pursue another career, wait a few in game days until the grimophone summons a different entity.
What happens when the bug occurs? - After a few in game days after they change careers, the Grimophone will summon a new Grim Reaper. The old Grim Reaper will be unable to be called or summoned in any way.
What do you expect to see? - I'm not sure, but probably for the Grim Reaper to never be able to give up his job. That way he stays a unique sim and you won't lose friendship/relationship progress when a double replaces him
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? - No
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? - Unsure, since the Grim Reaper event is new and summoning him has recently become much easier with the Grimophone

@Yanzerkid  Since his job is normally "Reaper of Souls" then yes, I suspect successfully asking him to change jobs makes him no longer the reaper.

And since he's a special Sim, I suspect it does bug him a little. I convinced Grim to become a writer, and now I can't even open his profile anymore...

I take it all back. His profile seemed to glitch for a moment, but then it came back and I could still summon the same Grim from the grimophone and he now just has two jobs.

...though I'm really not sure which is the more bugged behavior. The Grim Reaper resetting when asked to change jobs, or a Sim somehow ending up with two jobs, neither of which is part time.

@PipMenaceThere was a while where he had two jobs, but once a new grim was summoned I think it switched to him having one. My sim was also a writer, so I thought his choice in dream job had something to do with the sim who convinced him, but I guess not

No one died where I was playing my Sims. I used the phonograph as usual to make the Grim Reaper come over and level up the friendship with them, but a different Grim Reaper showed up. The original Grim Reaper is a young adult with one trait, while the other is an adult with 3 traits. I'm confiused. Plus, this new Grim Reaper is evil. Is this by design?

In any case, I'm taking T.O.O.L. off my game again, because it seems to be messing with the event TT


Update: taking off my mods folder seems to have been necessary to resolve this Grim Reapear evil twin issue, but my progression in the Grim Reaper event is damaged whatever I do so I guess I have to walk up the lost steps again.

My Sim is now acquainted with three different Grim Reapers and the first one won't come to my lot anymore.  I used the Grimmaphone to summon him and I trying to max out the relationship, but after a while, it summoned a completely different Reaper.  I didn't try to build a relationship with this new one, but it eventually summoned a third one.  I can chat with my friend-Reaper through the Relationships panel and flirt with him through Social Bunny, but I can't invite him over anymore.  Is there any way to summon the original Reaper or otherwise get him to my lot somehow?  I don't use any mods at all.

@WyrmelinI run a fully vanilla game, not even with any packs, so I think it's just a bug with the grimophone and grim reaper befriending in general. Restarting with a new character seems like the best bet

@TayloShoesUnfortunately, I don't think there's any way to summon the reaper without the grimophone unless you're there when another sim dies, and even then it might just be the latest in the duplicate lineup anyway.

It sucks, but we may just have to restart with a new save and do the event over just to see what happens. It might be a "ask the grim reaper to pursue dream job" issue, but from what you're describing it might also be a relationship meter issue? As in, any progress in it breaks the reaper. But I'm not sure. I've had different grims have totally different sexualities, some seemingly panromantic while another was other completely aroace, yet I've had issues with the duplicating reaper for both of them

After completing week 2 of this event, I now have 3 different Grim Reapers in my game.  How do I get rid of the extras?
