Air Assault/Superiority won't be coming to V, I'm afraid; you'll need to just keep camping the redeploy screen for more opportunities

^ Breakthrough is a good shout since you can fly unopposed on some maps/sectors. E.G. I used the first sector of Narvik to rank up the Mosquito when it was added to the game, since the Axis only get planes in the final sector.
@masterchris889 Fjell is the closest we have to Air Superiority, for other planes such as American/Japanese, Pacific Storm and Al Sundan would be your next best 2 in getting your planes upgraded. Other than that @yveshache is correct in bringing up community games but be warned that it can still fill with infantry players. Also 'boosting' is against EA rules so rank up the right way and not dishonestly, it's better that way when you actually earn it instead of cheesing it 
Try making a private community game with your friends, set your own personalized rules and play planes only
