The problem can be that so much things happening at the same time can cause a overheating that crash the game to freeze or may'be because not all the things in your computer like frames are update.

I turned off future frame rendering in the BF5 settings, now it crashes a lot less. but I do still get a lot of hiccups. also sometimes it still crashes, but for me 80% less.

Hopefully it will help somebody but I encountered the issue when buying a new pc (ryzen 3700x/x570/2080s), BF5 crashed to desktop all the time without warning and I could not play it longer than like 10min - very frustrating and performance fps was normal.
I found out the issue was with the memory settings in BIOS. The default XMP profile that I set for my RAM (without overlocking, just the 3200mhz) was the problem. Memtest86 gave loads of bugs and I solved it by entering the timings manually therefore leaving the XMP profile on auto. To my surprise Memtest86 gave no errors and BF5 runs smooth now.
