BFV purchased on Steam: installation folder cannot be found by origin

I recently purchased BFV on Steam and it linked the game with origin upon purchasing. However when I install BFV from steam and try to play the game, Origin cannot find the download location. It keep telling me "Looks like BFV Definitive Edition is not installed" even though I have changed the installation folder of Origin to the same folder where BFV is installed, as well as copy and pasted the entire folder from steam into my origin game folder. I have even tried adding BFV as a non-origin game to see if maybe it would find the installation folder, but it does not. Someone please help me!!!!!

Try to uninstall origin by following the steps from this article: https://help.ea.com/en-za/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/#uninstall-advanced and after that, verify the game files via game properties in steam. Steam should reinstall Origin and this may fix the problem. Double check that the directory for the installed game is the same for both steam and origin.
