@Player55nothing disappointing at all but no doubt the nay sayers will find something to whinge about.
I may have a warm fuzzy feeling about this one......I was right, the Battlefield 2042 section is awash with whinges and complaints based purely off a cinematic video!
Doesn't surprise me in the least unfortunately.
@Trokey66 that's probably because 1. we all remember BF5 2. DICE claims 2042 is a love letter to longtime fans and then changes the formula with specialists and all class weapons so we're getting visuals and fan service reminiscent of earlier Battlefield titles evoking nostalgia then get something completely "un-Battlefield" too with very little other information to either assuage our fears or confirm them so people are hyped and worried at the same time.
I want the community to be brutally honest with DICE since there's still time to affect change before launch. For me personally 2042 is make or break since I've stayed on through three consecutive disappointing Battlefield games - Hardline, BF1, and BF5 so if 2042 doesn't fill that Battlefield void I'm done and will move on.

ONLY IN BATTLEFIELD *camera zooms to show 48 snipers on useful team mate rock with 3 kills and 267 deaths between all of them*

Aside from random bullet deviation I thought BF1 was tons of fun -- They toned down just how much damage a single person could do but still allowed someone to 1 man army if they were smart/skilled enough.
It's a business and they need to innovate; I'm sure a lot of people are rolling their eyes when it comes to stuff CoD is doing but a straight 1:1 remaster to BF4 wouldn't work out

@ragnarok013 Oh, I totally agree but only when there is substance to those whinges. Most of it is based purely off the cinematic trailer and a few youtubers tidbits though.
@Trokey66 I agree and also understand your point. That is the inevitable downside of showing a cinematic only trailer followed by a gameplay trailer that didn't show a lot of normal gameplay. IMO DICE went over the top with spectacle looking like Michael Bay made the trailer and injecting a lot of fan service to make up for the BF5 reveal trailer. It was a wise way to generate enthusiasm and positive buzz for the next game instead of insulting the community and telling them "Don't like it, don't buy it" but neither trailer provided us with a lot of information about gameplay and systems. I think the lack of specific details was intentional to side step any potential objections with new features and changes to the series.

Funny how our BF Games always go from bad to good upon their release ,
but the Forums tend to go from good to bad as that release approaches .
Though we can't seem to avoid the 'historical' ,
surely we can avoid this 'hysterical' .
IF 'they' were to mine this place for Gold ; to avoid or lessen this 'historical' ;
we shouldn't be busily tossing Pyrite (fools gold) everywhere they'd search .
