@Straatford87 I thought there will be also a new character and a new map with season 1 . All that I'm seeing are skins?

Also why not a skin for the new character instead o a skin for an old character that I barely use.

Mabey less focus on skins and such crap? More focus on squad playing objekt Points and alot more maps and more focus on stability??  Insted of server rotation have map rotation...  u guys have taken everything from battlefield that was a core feature in battlefield.  And now when u put it back it sounds like this " we have heard you all, and now we will put in a scoreboard" its like you are doing us a great favor... If the game was released abit later and had all of the functions then you would not have a * storm of angry players?  Take a look on the picture.  And tell me Are theres things Even coming back to bf? Are clanbase coming back?

I qoute

"For team play, you can expect us to incorporate a clearer, tighter squad loop, a refined ping system, and an improved reward loop for when you and your squad play the objective."

While awaiting improvements, here are my current observations.

I purchased a PS5 and found that the game with a PS4 is only 1/2 of the game.  It is much more complete and functional with the PS5

However I have stopped playing for the following reasons:

1. The cartoonish vehicle mobility, including aircraft,  making it nearly impossible to play as ground infantry with any strategic approach.

2. The apparent ability for shooters to shoot through objects, including concrete and steel structures, making it nearly impossible to take cover.

3. Spawning limitations that require re-entering the game far away from any objectives.  Spend way too much time re spawning and traveling on foot.

4. Being put into games in progress that are almost over.

5. I refuse to be part of a Russian force, even if it is a game.

Will it reintroduce the legacy features, enabling player agency, that were removed?

A fit for purpose squad system, persistent lobbies, and a server browser. These core features of a competitive multiplayer team game are missing, and I've yet to hear a clear indication that Dice have even acknowledged the concerns, let alone signaled their return.

I've seen and read from Dice a lot of reassuring noises for the solo player. I've yet to see anything to placate team players.

I personally don't mind specialists but I thought of a potential compromise that you could do depending o if you like the idea or think it's too risky. In the trailer you had scenes displaying regular default looking soldiers along side each individual specialist. This reminded me of Star Wars battlefront 2 where you could have heroes and soldiers in game modes like galactic assault, capital supremacy, etc.... What if you made a similar design choice for 2042 where people would spawn is as default soldiers like the AI which can make for those who miss it feel like they are one soldier trying to make a difference agin by playing their specific role; while still keeping specialists but involving them in a more strategic way so they are used to assist in shaping the battle instead of being the main focus. If you'd like you could even operate certain specialists to certain items so every team has a specialist whose a medic type, assault type, engineer type, support type, or recon type. You wouldn't have to make it like battlefront 2 entirely with the points system but more like picking a vehicle and only one of each can be spawned in. If you wanted you could even make it where they aren't available to deploy until all objectives are captured on the map and then they're unlocked. If not that then add the ability to do both since this game was about having freedom of choice so you could add classes into the game as well and just choose which one you want if you even want it at all. Also as a side note would it be possible to have more specific restrictions for portal in regards to leveling up. What I mean is we can't currently play hardcore at all and hardcore was a big deal not only for me but many in the community. So could you potentially make it to where full xp is given as long as you don't have Ai's in the match to avoid xp boosting and weapon farming. Thank you for reading this or not depending if I'm too late and regardless whatever you'll do the game will be fine. This isn't the first time you've pulled a comeback so I believe in you guys.

They did that because in bf4 helicopters would go 100+-0 in lobbies and there's nothing you could do about it. Grated that never happened to me but for some people who aren't good at anti air it would be a problem. There are double the vehicles on next gen so imagine how crazy that would be.

Re: Battlefield Briefing: The Journey to Season One

Brilliant, thank-you for the update and the pinned article.

I can’t wait to hear about the following in the coming months.

  • How you’ll be improving squad play

  • How you’ll be addressing match making, quick play and server browsers.
    • (Whilst I’m a fan or map updates and scoreboard, this really is the biggest problem. without the above you’ve really nurfed team play. And will never recover your fan base.)
  • How you’ll be improving the scoring system, looks like your starting from scratch. Also be good to hear about releasing stats data for existing 3rd party BF communities to use.
    • a big part of BF was stats. Another big loss for your legacy/long term players. I want to hear how this is being addressed, it would definitely make some players happy.
  • How classes and specialists will evolve.
    • Personally I think this should be left till last. It’s a hot topic and to be honest if you fix/update the other issues first. It’s likely to be a no brainier.
  • How the overall start and end game flow will be improved.
    • It needs a more serious take and should be optimised to allow for squads to prepare for war and deploy.
    • So I would love to hear how your planning on improving this. Especially how your going to ditch the voice lines.
    • Personally I would love it if the end of round screen was tabbed. Hell you could have a tab with a voice line if you want just for memes. I’m old, I want to view at my leisure the results of battle. Best team, individual. Badges and awards, best kill, score board, etc etc.

Good luck

All of this, additionally if anything will be done in the way of implementing persistent servers and a server browser. Something that should probably be addressed sooner than later.
