@Crooklar

They already answered your robodog question:

"Once safely on the ground, Ranger will follow and protect you and even put your life above their own! You’ll also be able to issue orders such as scouting a location, having them return to you and follow you. If a situation becomes dire, you can also command Ranger to self-destruct."

So it's a "follow" / "defend" / "attack" kind of thing.

@Straatford87 Will the bullets go where your sight is aiming at (in full auto) or will it go anywhere like in bf4?

Whats the point in having classes if you can equip literally anything to it. I really hope they change that. But other wise looking good.

[NEW] # of times this post has been deleted by EA: 001

This game is going to fail for all the wrong reasons. I'm saying this as a Battlefield Veteran of 15+ years, so I know what I'm talking about.

EA is claiming, and I quote, "Battlefield is all about player choice and freedom to play however you want." However, from reading this article it is easy to see that EA has royally screwed-up the Battlefield formula. Let's take a closer look how:

---SPECIALISTS---

You ARE FORCED to play as a Specialist. Gone are the days where you could customize a nameless soldier to your liking in order to feel like you are the one on the battlefield. Instead, this game has turned into a "Hero-shooter" genre where abilities and gadgets are restricted to certain Specialists. Why is EA doing this? The answer is simple: $$$ Micro-transactions $$$

"There will be plenty of options available to you in the form of skins,  which can alter your appearance and allow you to choose how you’d like your Specialist to stand out on the battlefield. The same two Specialists can look vastly different when wearing different skins."

Unless its changed, this game is going to turn into Rainbow 6 Siege mixed with Call of Duty: everyone running around with wacky, overpriced cosmetics, despite being the same soldier underneath (that won't be annoying to play with).

SOLUTION: REMOVE SPECIALISTS

Give your consumer what they what EA! (That's how you sell your product and maintain a good company image). Keep the same class/role system that makes Battlefield stand out among its competitors. Cosmetics are fine, but BE REASONABLE. We would like to be immersed in this game.

---THE BATTLEFIELD CLASS SYSTEM---

This is customization gone wrong. Any Specialist can have ANY weapon in the game. Good luck balancing that EA. This completely ruins the Battlefield dynamic. Normally, what one squad mate couldn't do well, another squad mate could compensate. For example, one squad mate could bring a shotgun or SMG for close quarters combat while another squad mate could have a rifle or DMR for mid to long range combat. Now any soldier can be turn a rifle into a short-range gun or suppressive LMG by swapping out attachments whenever. Everyone can also bring a rocket launcher of their choice so why bother hopping in a tank or helicopter?

SOLUTION: RESTORE TRADITIONAL BATTLEFIELD CLASS/ROLE SYSTEM

Classes with no specialists will tremendously ease the balancing of the game and help players identify how friendlies can aid the team and which enemies to be mindful of in combat.

---ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE---

"AI Soldiers are used to backfill servers and you cannot opt-out of playing with them."

This will get real ugly, fast. We'll have to wait and see how bad, but I can almost guarantee the A.I. will be able to:

-"Spot" Players without seeing them

-Aim-bot

-Body-block friendlies

-Reveal your squad's location prematurely

-Waste resources (vehicles, destructible cover, ammunition and meds, etc.)

SOLUTION: REMOVE BOTS OR ALLOW OPT-OUT

Its that simple.

---THE GAME IS NOT A FULL PRODUCT---

The game is launching with only 7 maps and no naval combat among many other missing features. This is like Battlefield V all over again (and we all know how well that went). Quick reminder: Battlefield 4 launched with 10 maps and naval combat which was fantastic. Battlefield V launched with two nations, some discrete maps, and later had to add the Pacific Theatre (should have been in the base game!) because it wasn't ready at launch (it also sucked). That game is still unfinished, seeing as it never added the Soviets in a WWII shooter (and the game is no longer supported). Why does this matter? Because EA sees YOU as their un-payed play tester. EA executives give the development team a release date and whatever state the game is in gets pushed onto the shelves for the poor, unfortunate people that still trust pre-orders. DO NOT PRE-ORDER unless you want to debug the game for EA.

SOLUTION: HIRE ME EA

I'm sure any true Battlefield Veteran agrees with the points I have brought forth. This game has so much potential, but it is being squandered by a rushed release schedule, greedy executives, and game directors with limited or forced vision. To my fellow Battlefield comrades, spread #HireAmiable and hopefully an EA representative will catch wind.

Then again, we can all take Patrick Soderlund's advice again: "...you have two choices: either accept it or don’t buy the game. I’m fine with either or."

Included in this post is an image of EA's stock following Battlefield V's reveal in case anyone forgot.

I am very excited about getting back into Battlefield this year.  Battlefield 2042 has reinvigorated the community and is the game of the year that I am looking forward to.

I live near Los Angeles and would love a tour of the LA studio.  I wish that were a possibility for fans of DICE and the Battlefield games over the years.
