I have not been able to get online with BF4 at all. I am able to play the campaign no problem.
Each time I select multiplayer, battlelog, or premium it give me the connectino with EA online was lost message.
I have looked around a bit on the forums and standard google searches but can not seem to find anyone with the issue happening before they are even at the server select screen.
Any help is very much appreciated.
Any links to other topics that can assist with solving this issue would be appreciated as well.

Finally able to play!!
For those that are experiencing this issue, turns out that the PSN ID and the EA Origin ID could not link. As soon as I got through to EA support via phone (Phone Support)
Steps
Enter any generic problem
Select BF4, Connectivity/Performance Issue, Playstation 4, Find solution
Click I still need help
Select CALL ME!!!
Enter your information
An EA support specialist called me in 5 minutes, was able to look up my information and connect them. Within 3 minutes of being on the phone I was able to connect with EA and was able to log in and play on a server!
I really hope this helps anyone with this issue.

Still awaiting a reply EA, and I am still having this issue.
Now the game has become completly un-playable. About 5 hours into campaign mode I get the CE-34878-0 error and my save file is corrupt. Now I have to start over in a game that is obvisouly buggy...
I would greatly appreciate a reply of some sort EA, your tech support via chat gives me vastly conflicting answers each time and my faith in you guys is just about gone.
It seems as if multiplayer is available for some users, I guess those should be greatful they can at least get in? I really hope this is not your official stance on this problem EA.
I am truly greatful I did not fork over the money for premium up front, maybe I can still get my money back for this game.
I guess I can go download one of the free games...

I am having the same issue. I recieve this message when I attempt to choose Multiplayer and Battlelog. I just got the game today. I haven't had issues with the campaign though. I am about 3 hours in on it. I am pretty upset...it deems the game completely useless. It shouldn't be a $60 campaign...I read that there is suppoed to be a patch released next week to fix issues with crashes on the PS4, so maybe we will be able to get online then.

Quick update for anyone interested:
Still have never been able to axcess EA online. Was able to play NBA2k13 online just fine, can play Warframe online no problem as well.
I still can not get a straight answer from EA's online support, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate your help.
At this point I would very much like to at least get to the server select screen...

Having the exact same issue as well. I recently bought BF4 premium edition and was never able to connect to multiplayer. Receiving the mesage "The connection to ea online was lost"
