Official DICE servers constantly splitting squads mid game? [PS4]

[ Edited ]

Hi community/DICE,

Had this issue a few hours ago on an official DICE server on PS4. Never seen it before.

Myself and a friend joined an almost full server via server browser, and noticed we kept getting kicked out of our squad.

The squad page showed the whole team had been separated into 2 man squads (with the odd 3 man squad). Upon trying to join any one of them, we both get kicked out after a few seconds (as were a few others obviously trying to form bigger squads again). The entire enemy team seemed unaffected looking at the after match report.

Is this a setting or a bug? Any seen this before?

Thanks,

There is no server setting that can trigger such things @Digital_FurbaII ,

Not even a rogue badmin on a rented server can do such action causing the symptoms that you observe here..

The only person that can 'manipulate' your affiliation to a squad is the squad leader.

And when checking further, you can observe that in your top-end of players on your team side, they have their most kills with either the attack heli or with the battle tank.  And many of such players on a map like Shanghai are often teaming up in pairs, one as pilot/driver and the other as gunner.  And some at times kicks out other players that try and join their squad, to avoid 'those externals' are spawning in into the vehicle instead of their 'preferred partner', who may exit for a torch repair job, etc...

So while not nice, its just one those things happening from time to time.

And such players could also instead mark their squad as 'private' to lock it down, while many do not.

So while not 100% certain that this is what you observed, its a possibility.  Also as when you check some of the other players further down the ranking that do not have vehicles as #1, they are 3 or more squad mates together...

Thanks @CyberDyme , this is a good call. If it's not a server setting or a strange blip in the system like @EA_Atic suggested I'd assume this could be the reason.

Can't say I've seen that level of coordination between multiple players running vehicles, hilarious we still lost that round.

Thank @Digital_FurbaII  for sharing your battle report with us, looks still to have been a great close epic match that you had there on the Shanghai map!

I just extracted the key info here, as there are several fun observations:

Dig_FurbaiiReport.JPG

First thing is though that it ended up really being a tight match with just 66 tickets remaining, so it could very easily have gone either way!

Its also very telling to see that your US team actually had both the most kills of enemies and also the least death!  (so why didnt you win then?)

That is where you now can look at the other stats, as there are quite big difference in some of the key stats there, just look at the total scoring there.  Its quite a massive difference.  And you can see in the scoring buckets where they come from.  The combat score is the first to stand out!  So the other team members collaborated much much better overall.  Sharing the gadgets and perks between them, health, ammo, revives... Following squad lead orders and taking enemy flags.  Which actually also is a consequence of how you explained many on your team side only stayed together in small squads two by two players.  As squad wipes and loss of accumulating perks and all simply is frequently the result as near impossible to work other way when in small squads.  And then you also see that the enemy team did like massive many more defib revives versus on your team.  So though the enemy team did not appear to be as aggressive and 'great killers' as on your team, they did collaborate much better and focused on taking the flags to burn your tickets away for them to win it despite your more kills on them.

Again, it looks to have been a fun close match, so it was just the small details that in the end brought the win to one team and not the other.

Always great to see that team work and playing the objectives are frequently making the difference to win the match despite the other team may have superior k/d stats.
