Not Connecting to Servers

My friend bought Battlefield 4 a day ago on EA app but his game won't connect to the online services. He did got connected one time but after sometime disconnected and then again he could not connect to online again. Also his EA app friend list won't load up as well.

Game was not connecting online but my friend is using VPN and it fixed the issue.
