Hi,
I've been trying to play BF4 on my computer since last year and up to this day I can't figure out how can I get rid of those annoying stutters.
My problem is, whenever I'm playing online, I often get around 100ms stutters. It's completely random (even when almost nothing is happening in the game). I also get the "low fps" icon (the orange and red ones) when I'm getting these stutters. I'm running the game at 100+ fps easily (framerate locked at 120 to prevent my laptop CPU from overheating using RTSS).
I use MSI Afterburner to monitor my computer and nothing seems to be bottlenecking (temps are fine, CPU, GPU and RAM usage too).
My specs are :
Dell G3 3779
i7 8750H @3.9Ghz (-125mV using Throttlestop)
2*8GB of DDR4 RAM
GTX 1060 6GB MaxQ Design
Windows 10 64bits
I've done a bit of search and I tried almost every kind of fix I found but nothing helped.
So far, I've tried :
- Changing the in game graphics settings (from Ultra to Low)
- Reinstalling Windows
- Reinstalling the game
- Deactivate Windows Game Bar and DVR
- Deactivate Origin in game
- Launch the game from the Battlelog
- Changing the game process priority (from high to low) and affinity (tried 6/8/10 cores)
- End "Game bar presence writer" task while in game
- Changing pre rendered frame within the Nvidia control panel
- Deactivate fullscreen optimization
- And many other things I forgot about
This happens only when I'm playing Battlefield 4 and never happens when I'm playing Battlefield 3 for example.
I sincerely hope someone will be able to help me out.

Hey there, @MathWR Thanks for all the details!
Worth a try is to shut off MSI afterburner. That program don't always work well with Frostbite games.
