Here's what I did on my Sunday:
. Formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 8 and updated to Windows 8.1 (my pc is self built in April and changed the chassis to HAF-X in August so it's fairly new)
. Installed the necessary apps and drivers (I chose the recommended latest drivers)
. Installed the game (gasps! mileysurprised
. Reinstalled PB and manual update
. Lowered my graphics and sound driver settings (just in case)
. Set the PhysX to GPU
. Under graphics settings, I chose Borderless and Medium settings (AA off)
For my trial run, I fooled around in Test Range. Looked promising. No crash yet.
Actual MP Play 1: Then I joined a smaller server less than 10 players on Hainan Resort. Hopped into the mobile AA. Terrorized Objective B, got smacked by a couple of rpgs. Backed out, repaired while teammates began to bombard the objective (was beginning to feel hopeful. My hard work seemed to pay off)). Resumed my mobile AA patrol, around the perimeter, spotted the enemy in the open and let loose my cannons at him- BAM! CRASH!
All this happened within a span of less than five minutes. I will try again with different settings and beta drivers and report back. mileyfrustrated:

Windows 7 and 8 does not update punkbuster properly and you need to go to evanbalance.com to get the proper punkbuster version for bf4

My crashing has gone down a lot / are almost non existant (now the server crashes are driving me insane).
I've turned off origin helper in the advanced settings,
and I've turned off the origin overlay.
I might get back to crashing the next time I start it up but it's worth a try.

For those of you who are having problems and no solution is working, try rolling back your graphics drivers on Nvidia cards to "331.40" beta drivers. This is the only solution that has worked for me, I played the game for about 3 hours yesterday with no crashes. Before I was crashing with the below error every 1-5 minutes while in game:
DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason' failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is a design-time issue that should be Investigated and fixed.").
I did a complete uninstall of my 331.65 drivers, restarted then installed the 331.40 while my internet was offline and fixed everything for me. My card EVGA 570 GTX SC
Hope this helps.

After formatting and cleaning everything out from my PC (see my earlier post), having not been able to play a single full round ever, it's time again to join the MP fray (actually to test Bugfield 4 again).
Actual MP Play 2: Domination@Paracel Storm 32 players. New to the map, needed to orient myself helped to cap two flags before being gunned down. Storm brewing and the enemy began to attack in earnest in multiple directions. And this running and turning and checking corners and helping to dish out ammo packs while getting shot at and killed, my ultimate reward is AUDIO LOOP and FREEZE. Which I had to kill it with fire using task manager before the evil start laying eggs.
I remained with with the latest NVIDIA drivers to see if it contributed to the crash. Apparently, the latest game ready drivers are full of crap. On my next MP Play, I will revert to the much recommended beta drivers and further workarounds to see if that has any effect to play in preventing any buggish onslaught by Bugfield 4. Stay tuned.

For myself. Not the beta drivers, but the ones just before the most recent seemed to have resolved my issues. Will update more this evening.
