I've spent 4 hours on the forum looking for similar threads, but I COULD NOT find one that covers this issue:
- Battlefield 4 doesn't even start.
- When starting the campaign or after joining a server on Battlelog, there's an immediate APPCRASH
- The APPCRASH reports KernelBase.dll as faulty module

My system configuration:
- AMD FX-8350 (stock clock speeds, Corsair H70 liquid cooling)
- ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 (BIOS version 2201, latest as of today)
- MSI Radeon R9 290 (Catalyst 13.12 WHQL, BIOS version "015.042.000.000.003747")
- 16GB (4x 4GB) Kingston Value DDR3-1333 MHz (stock clock speeds, stock timings)
- Samsung 840 250GB SSD
- Corsair HX 850W power supply
- Windows 8.1 (Genuine, UEFI Secure Boot enabled)
What I've tried:
- Reinstalling Battlelog browser plug-ins
- Reinstalling Punk Buster
- Reinstalling .NET 4.5
- Disabling audio "exclusive mode"
- Installing DirectX using the latest redistributable
- Reinstalling the entire game (uninstalling game, uninstalling punkbuster, uninstalling battlelog plug-in, making Samsung Magician perform a manual-TRIM on the SSD, and reinstalling everything in that order)
All other games work fine. 3DMark FireStrike Extreme has been stable for 1 hour.
