A DirectX setup error could mean a variety of things. It usually means a video card driver might be outdated or the DirectX version itself.
Check to make sure your drivers are fully updated for your devices.

I searched "Direct X Setup" in the search bar at the Answers HQ homepage and came across some other posts with solutions that might help.

IDK why this is marked as solved when I straight up said it wasn't fixed.

I tried that and it's still doing it.
Can you try to run a clean boot on your PC and run origin as Administrator https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/ ?
Also, try this:
Go to \Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist and find a DXSETUP.exe file and run it ( You should have Internet Connection while installation). Then, reboot your PC.
I think this topic was marked as Solved, because after my reply you didn't update your topic and you didn't write anything else. You didn't answer that my post was helpful or not. (My opinion)

I followed the instructions and after restart it has started to verify the files. Thanks, I am 1 step closer to playing a game I got blacklisted on after 21 mins of playing with no cheats.

1. enter to game install directory
2. go to _installer\directx\redist
3. create a new folder, name it anything you want g.e. junk
3. select all files except: dsetup.dll , dsetup32.dll and dxsetup.exe - move all those files into the folder you just created.
4. go back to origin, and let origin complete the setup, by clicking on the game that was providing the issue.
