I get this error in BF3 also sometimes i can play the game for hours and sometimes i can only play for 10 minutes
"Directx function "getdeviceremoved reason" failed with DXGI_ERRORDEVICE_HUNG ("The applications device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed."). GPU:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 TI", Driver 33140

and i just updated to the newest Nvidia drivers today.

This same issue started for me on the release of the first 600MB patch.
The only solution i have found to combat this is to use Windowed mode.

Perhaps the unicode fix will help:
Control panel -> Time, Language and Region -> Region -> Administrative tab
Change Language for non-Unicode programs To English(US)
Also, as ever, don't forget to keep your drivers current: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-4/Update-your-Graphic-Drivers-For-BF4/m-p/1722891#U1722891
(I know you mention doing so fourt4, it's more of a general reminder for those that stumble across the thread.)

i fixed my directx errors by opening computer/hardrive /:C / programs files [x86] / Origin games / battlefield 4 / _installer / directx / redist / look for the directx setup and install it might have to run it twice to be sure all files are downloaded and installed hope this helps

And every other applications in language other than English messed up. It is hardly a fix !
