BF4 "the joined game is running an incompatible version" xbox 360

Tried going online to play, but according to the server lists, nobody was playing, which I thought was odd. Then I tried joining a friend who was playing, and I receive a message saying "the joined game is running an incompatible version". Does anyone have idea as to why this is happening?

I just thought about this but did you get the "Battlefield 4 Multiplayer Update 1" from the Add-ons section in the Xbox Marketplace? That could be what is causing that, but I don't know for sure yet.

XB360 user here. Same issue, same error message. All updates installed. 



Any workarounds or troubleshooting help?

same problem. cant play says incompatable version. i deleted everything. cleared my system casche. redowoaded. still says incompatable version?

I tried joining with a friend too.  I'm getting the same error every time we try.  He tries, I try, we try multiple ways through the guide button, through the game itself, every way possible gets the same message.

Is there a fix for this???

I just downloaded the Multiplayer update 2 and it fixed my problem. Apparently there is a new update in the add - on section. Hope this helps ya'll.

Hey man, try downloading the multiplayer update 2 in the add on section. To my knowledge this is the second newest update. It fixed my problem with the incompatible games.

Also if you are running the premium version (battlefields season pass)and your friend you are trying to play with does not have this add on it won't allow you two to play together. I would hope that they fix this. Maybe it's time to play COD Ghosts
