About Rubberbanding, made a test with TCP Optimizer.

★ Apprentice

Hello,

I made a quick test, how tweaking my network adapter settings with TCP Optimizer has on the rubberbanding many of us have been having since launch.

now before you ask that do i know what all these settings in TCP Optimizer does, well i sure don't but the test results still we're quite interesting.

i used the same game server, there was same amount of players on both times and the map was the same too.

My OS:

AMD Phenom II X4 @stock 3.2 GHz
6GB DDR3 1333 MHz
AMD Radeon 7770 1GB
internet connection: mobile broadband 4G(on DC-carrier, no LTE available yet where i live)

Win 7 Pro x64

----------------------------------------------------

Vanilla win7 x64 - no network tweaks with TCP Optimizer.

ping: 100-139

rubberbanding was clearly present.

----------------------------------------------------

Win 7 x64 - tweaked network settings with TCP Optimizer

ping: 71-94

there was some rubberbanding still present,
but not nearly as much when in vanilla settings. and the "agressiveness"

of the rubberbanding effect was reduced quite alot. so i didnt warp like 5 feet everywhere forth and back.

----------------------------------------------------

TCP Optimizer settings i used we're the "optimal" ones, check the screenshots to see what settings i used.

Rather then tweaking my ass off with some random values i decided to just put on optimal settings with TCP Optimizer.

----------------------------------------------------

So if you wish to test yourself, just download TCP Optimizer, if you decide to test it and if it has any positive effects on your rubberbanding, please post results to this thread.

Thanks,

Jushi

BF4 uses mainly UDP.

Therefore I think it was just random that the rubberbandung was reduced by this software.

Maybe the server population decreased?

hmm the server was full on both times. anyhow, doesnt these settings on tcp optimizer apply to UDP settings too?

i mean, the game uses udp ports, but still uses tcp based network adapter.
