Hi,

I chatted with EA again today about this issue and I have to say that this time they at least dropped their pants a bit and admitted the mistake on THEIR side. Unfortunately, without concrete solutions or the like. I have already sent my log files such as DXdiag etc. to EA. I have 2 tickets open on Steam and 2 on EA. They excuse themselves by referring to complicated algorithms and existing code that cannot be changed quickly. But after all, it was not the customers who decided to switch from Origin to the EA App. That's why I think they should have already cleaned up their algorithms.
The log files can be helpful no question and DXdiag etc. but the error must be fixed at EA not at the customer by deleting any folders or uninstalling all apps that could have something to do with it. All EA has to do is buy Battlefield 3 through Steam and see what happens. So far nobody has written if it would work for him via Steam.
It's a mass issue where it's treated as a graphical bug that only 1-2 percent have.

@TidySnake, wouldn't it be amazing if there was a magical "Fix All" button to solve every fan's issue at once? Standard smile But, alas, such things sadly don't exist, and proper investigation is necessary. If fans can't provide the requested information, it might slow down the investigation, and we might not be able to find a solution as quickly as we'd hope.

BF3 activation problems origin

Hi EA, 

 

I'm writting this message because i can see many people got the same problem and i'll speak for everyone. 

Many players bought YOUR game on YOUR origin plateforme a decade ago. Now when we tried, just to start the game. We got an error message wich says "We cannot activated BF3 on your computeur", then you ask us to write the cd key. But we can't put any CD key because we always got this problem " you are not connected to the internet.." A month ago i was playing on origin and everythings was good now, we just cant play. Can someone in the EA team can understand and move his * ? ( this is your job not ours, we just bought your game in order to play not in order to developpe it. In this case we would have studied dev. 

Can you do something simple ? we start a game and we play simply

Could you also please share an EA app Error Report ID with us here in the thread? Steps can be found here on how to generate this ID.

  • If you cannot open the EA app, you can still generate an Error Report ID by following the steps mentioned underneath the section called "I can't open the EA app".

Hello folks,

I don't want to advertise VU (Venice Unleashed) here and I would have preferred it if EA had solved this problem on its own in the period of more than a month now. But they didn't and once again you could only hope and in this case count on the community. VU is a launcher similar to Northstar for Titanfall 2. Only with VU nothing is changed in the game itself and you can still start it without VU. You can even launch it from the EA app and from Steam just like the desktop shortcut. Unfortunately, it is not enough to just install the VU client to fix the activation error. In order to finally get rid of this, you have to start the VU client once with your EA user data in the "launch arguments" behind the .exe - in the link. Here is the point where everyone has to consider whether to enter them there. I reluctantly did it to try. It works and Battlefield 3 runs as described above.

 

[FIX] We could not activate Battlefield 3 on this computer using the EA Account you provided. :: Bat...

EDIT: Because of the password thing. I changed it after activation with the VU Client and everything still works.

I have the same issue. I bought BF3 on Steam. Then i entered the Battlelog. It's asking for the product key on "origin"What should we do? Thanks.

 

Please EA it's an old game but if you are selling it today you need to give support today....
