ea app not loading bf3

I have bfe had it when it first came out now my ea app is giving a message saying to update key or purchase the game 

i all ready own this game but the app will not launch game

what is causing this issue

I did something I shouldn't have done. I gave EA more money. At least my problem has been solved.
Anyway, I bought my physical media DVD version back in 2014 and I had the same problem as everyone else here.
I tried everything and nothing worked. So I decided to buy another game key. But how can I buy a game key from the EA APP if I already have the game in my library, right? That sounds like a joke.
So I went to google and entered the EA website and there it allowed me to buy the base game again. I saw that the price was really low, really low. So for me it was worth the risk. I bought a new key and it's now over a month since my problem was solved.

Hello, I've tried all founded solutions. But in my case helped installing old Origin launcher.
Old Launcher http://www.oldversion.com/windows/download/origin-9-1-12-73

- install it in offline mode then quit (don't need to login there)
- open EA launcher
- BF3 -> play
- open link in FireFox
- go to servers list -> play

and for some reason it finally starting BF3. Maybe the problem is that when you try to launch the game from the browser it looking for the origin launcher and in the new version it redirects you to EA launcher and it is the case.. eatherway, happy to play my fav BF3 again

This worked for me. ı'm very  happy ((

- Install Venice Unleashed. (here https://veniceunleashed.net/)

- Open the shorcut located in C:\Users\"YOURUSER"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Venice Unleashed\Activate BF3.lnk

- Wait until show you a message that your game has been activated.

- Open the game. That work for me, i hope it works for someone else."

or install here https://veniceunleashed.net/ go to .START. and look for .Venice Unleashed.  .press Activate BF 3. 

exactly right Battlefield 3 working 100% steam version.

@uNNoia It's absolutely outrageous what you and others have been forced to do to get this game working. These problems have been going on for months yet these criminals continue to take people's money and refuse to support their sales. I'm glad people are finding hacks and work arounds to get their games working but they should not have to.
@EA - if you can't support your product, stop taking money for it.

Yes, it worked perfectly for me. I bought the new key on the EA website by logging in via my browser.

In the EA APP I already have the game in my library, there was no way I could buy a new key.
