Everytime i run Battlefield 3 on steam, it tells me that i have no product key

"Could not activate" i have not changed anything in my PC, ive played the game before but i have not played it in a long time what could be the reason for this and how can i fix it

I have the exact same issue right now.  The EA app is trash and it sees the game in my library and I can't find my key because its so old.  I won't buy anything on the EA app and will stick to Steam for game purchases.

BF4 on the other hand plays normally as does everything else.

Iv followed and tried all the forums, tried everything i could think of, im certain its server side for new buyers, I just bought the game from steam, when i launch it, it launches my EA account which is already linked, asking me to join a server from the website, once i do, it says joining at the bottom of the website, then it says error something went wrong, and pulls up the first imaigne, then i try and click enter product key, which i dont have one because i bought the game from steam. and imagine 2 says i dont have a internet connection, idk what else to do besides get a refund, all my other BF games work perfectly fine.

I tried to file a bug report but it just brought me back here, I got incontact with EA live chat, followed all the directions, and still nothing, i even went as far to REVO uninstall BF3/Origins/EA and restart my computer, reinstall them, exact same error, not sure what else to do.

A lot of people have this issue in this comunity right now.

In the forums you can see some sort of recomendatios from other cases but most fail to start the game.

We can only pray, try to downgrade to Origin and rise our voices to EA

Good morning. After update origin to EA. 

When I try to start battlefild 3, connect to the server, EA said that battlefield dosent activating on this computer, please activate the product. But I have bought battlefield 3 premium 10 years ago Oo ??? WUT ??? Oo. Please help, what should I do ?

I had this, when suddenly "could not activate" message opopped up after months of no issue launching

I tried reinstall / deleteing files but the problem remained

finally I tried the Venince unleashed solution, fixed it straightaway for me, I recommend that one

@EA_Darko they didn't help, they only said to delete and redownload bf3, the ea app and then steam, i did all of that mutliple times and still the game asked for an origin activation code when trying to launch and doesn't allow you to enter one anyway. Please check the recent reviews on steam, most people who bought it on steam cannot launch it.

Steam platform purchase Battlefield 3 cannot access the server, and it is said that it is not possible to enable Battlefield on this computer using the provided origin account??? If you can't access the server on Battlefield 3, you can't use the provided origin account to enable Battlefield on this computer???
