Running a Clean Boot on your PC is a troubleshooting process that is designed to help fix difficulties that may be encountered when installing, launching or accessing online content of games. The Clean Boot process disables any background tasks that may be causing interference.
The following steps will show you how to run a Clean Boot on your PC. Please note: There may be slight variations in the process depending on the operating system that you are using:
- Press and hold the 'Windows' Key followed by the 'R' key to open up a prompt window.
- In the prompt window, type 'msconfig'.
- When you have finished typing, click OK. At this point, you should now see the multi-tabbed System Configuration dialog box.
- Click on the 'General' tab
- Choose the 'Selective startup' option
- Uncheck the 'Load startup items' box.
- Open the 'Services' tab.
- Check the 'Hide all Microsoft services' option at the bottom of the tab.
- Click the 'Disable all' button.
- When prompted, restart your computer.
