Battlefield 3 on PC lagging and very low fps, even on single player

open ur bf3 file and make a shortcut the open the shortcut properties,look for target and put anything there n quotations as in ("et cetera") unless it already is like that then space then -high and -dxlevel 81

Could it be the laptop overheating since Laptops are notorious for overheating or play at very high settings that is causing the lag?

Thank you so much.  I had this same issue and disabling the "Origin in game" box fixed the issue for me.  Playing the game on Ultra settings now and the game is smooth as butter.
