Battlefield 3 Game Update Required issue

When launching Battlefield 3, Battlelog always states that an update is required.

I have tried to following:

Uninstalled and reinstalled both EA App and Battlefield 3.

Tried every browser and made sure Battlelog was not hindered by adblocker or any other software.

Repair title in EA App

Clear EA App cache

DXDIAG

Running all apps in administrator(EA APP, FireFox, etc.)

Medal of Honor: Warfighter has no issues for me. Same game engine and Battlelog service.

The message that the title requires an update just repeats in perpetuity every time I click continue. Neither EA App or Battlelog show that the title is not up to date.

What are my options? Why can't we bypass Battlelog on such an old title? Why have no solutions to this problem been produced? One google search shows it has been an issue for the better part of a decade.

To add to this. When it initially opens Battlelog and I click play, them message saying game update required doesn't allow me to click anywhere else on the screen. At the top right in the unclickable area it shows battlefield 3 isn't installed even though it is.
