I used to have Windows 7 and BF3 worked perfectly.
After not playing for a while, I uninstalled it and after upgrading to Windows 8 Pro (not a fresh install) I decided to install BF3 again.
The download goes smooth but the instalation takes forever (last night I left for 2+ hours and nothing).
If I close the Origin client (via task manager) and try again, I get the following error: "DirectX Setup error: An internal error occurred."
Here's my system specs:
AMD FX-6100
Radeon HD6770
8Gb DDR3 RAM
Windows 8 Pro with Media Center
Any light at the end of the tunnel?
Thanks in advance for the help

Hello,
I also have the same issue and it's crazy - always play for about 2-3 minutes then the same - ATI HD 6000 series cards. Using latest drivers for everything. I tried the directx install but nothing - when will a windows 8 patch come out. I had NO ISSUES under windows 7 - nothing else has changed!!!
Thanks for your help.

Dude I have the same exact problem. Same error message and everything. It's also doing this on Crysis and Crysis 3.

Hi,
Been running Windows 8 and 7 previously, updated to the latest Endgame, BF3 now crashing with DirectX error after a few minutes, Have MSI N580GTX, Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H mobo, 16Gb ram, so latest kit but appears to be a bug in the latest game software, all the latest drivers, all other games run fine, so my solution is to not run BF3 until your companies technicians sort the problem out?

Can you post your dxdiag results so we can see if anything in particular is causing the fault?
