BF3 EA App

Hello,

I've installed BF3 in December 2022 and played it with no issue. For the past month I wanted to start the game again and finish the campaign but EA app asks me to enter product key. I press the button to enter product key and then it says I'm currently offline.

I've tried all workarounds I could find:

-reinstall game

-reinstall EA app

-try to run with additional commands

-try to run with admin mode

-try to run with compatibility mode

-try to install old Origin app

-try to modify the files of the old Origin app

-updated drives and windows

-try different browsers

-try with plug-in on and off

I've seen this issue has been around for years and tried every workaround I could find on every forum and group and no success.

Also I've tried other games and games like BF4 work just fine, it's only BF3 that has this issue.

I've seen more threads around this issue but one more wouldn't hurt so I made my own. The issue is really annoying and should be addressed seriously.

Configuration:

i7-12700H

32G DDR5

RTX3060

1Gbps

Edit: I've found a solution from 8 years ago and this worked.

Deleted everything from the following paths:

C:\ProgramData\Origin

C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts

C:\ProgramData\EA Core

C:\ProgramData\EA Desktop

C:\ProgramData\EA Logs

C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 3\Core

Restarted PC, started EA App, Repaired BF3 and now the game starts as expected.

That should be your install location. Mine is the default path set by EA App. If you are not sure where you installed it, try searching where the .exe is running.

The only file I can find is the core file. Is this the same as just uninstalling and reinstalling the game?
