Xbox 1 Failed to connect to EA online

Says failed to connect to EA online bought the xbox yesterday and have XBOX GOLD tried resetting router and clearing the cache if I can't get it to work I'm just going to return it tomorrow seeing that I bought it yesterday and it doesn't even work 24 hours out of the box

@iLikeCarsYesIdo Can you play other games online? If you try to play other EA games is this effective? Are you on a full adult account?

did the troubleshooting steps, yes I am an adult and yes I can play on other games. Failed to connect to EA not my internet etc...

@iLikeCarsYesIdo Thanks for the detail. You mention that other games can be played online, can I double check if this includes EA games. I just want to be sure the EA and console accounts are connecting correctly. Perhaps trying the FIFA 17 demo will be an option if you don't have other EA games.
