So I own BF1 hard copy, and my son, who is on my xbox live family can play the campaign but not online. He has no restrictions whatsoever. Is this an xbox or ea issue? Does he need an ea account?
He does not have the go online option with the x button on the BF1 home screen.

I also have a same question. Follow My Health App

No, his Xbox sccount is setup with no restrictions and DOB showing him as 18.
He is linked with me in Microsoft family but does not have his own Xbox live/play/gold subscription.

We have one console that is shared by three of us, we are all set up as adults but have a family link so we only use one xbox gold account.

@clowngibbs I'm not sure if either of these will help, but figured I'd share on the off-chance that they do (I suspect the second suggestion will be how you've got your Xbox set up already).
Allow or Block Multiplayer Games:
- Open the Xbox Family Settings app, and then go to Settings.
- Select the Multiplayer tile, and then select the toggle switch to block or allow multiplayer features.
Sharing your Xbox Game Pass subscription:
- Go to Xbox Settings and select 'General' then 'Personalisation'.
- Select 'My Home Xbox' and then 'Make this my home Xbox'.
It probably wouldn't hurt to set up an EA account for him and link his profile either.

@ElliotLH thank you for the help so far but he still does not have access.
I have checked all the items you mentioned so far and they are all as you advised.
Thanks.

@clowngibbs Sorry to hear that. At this point it might be worth reaching out to EA Help (help.ea.com/contact-us) or Xbox support to see if they can advise anything. Unless I've missed anything glaringly obvious, which could be the case, I don't see a reason why your son can't play.
Let me know if you have any issues getting in touch with EA Help.
